Signs That You Need to Remove a Tree

Choosing whether you should remove a tree or not is not simply a practical choice, it is also an emotional one. Since trees can live for a lot of years, you cannot just measure its significance to the community, property, or family. That is why aside from being a complicated one, the choice to remove a tree will also require careful preparation and planning.

The risk of falling debris or limbs makes it a threat to both surrounding property and people whenever a tree is considered hazardous. Though it is true that dying or dead trees can be kept in place for a couple of years with the right pruning and maintenance from a tree service company, its condition will eventually require removal.

Here are several signs that can tell you that you might have to remove your tree:

Leaning Tree

Signs of trees leaning to a single direction might show weakening or damage to the root system as trees vertically grow. You should get rid of the tree right away if it is leaning more than 15 degrees.

Sprouting Shoots near the Tree’s Base

Sprouting roots along the tree’s trunk or base might show a problem with the tree. There’s a chance that the tree has undergone stress because of the overexposure to the sun, excavation, or recent construction project. Before you do anything about it, you should have your tree inspected by a professional tree service company.

Species of the Tree

A certain tree species can help determine whether you should remove the tree or not. There are several types of trees that can show properties that make continued growth less appealing. This includes willows, empress trees, mimosa, poplar trees, bulberry, and box elder.

You might have to remove a tree because of the tendency to gather insects and diseases, an excess of debris, and weak wood.

Dead Branches

Trees showing huge dead branches are a threat to nearby property and people. The tree might recover if fewer than 25% of branches are fallen or damaged. Rubbing and crossed branches can weaken the main branches and compromise the tree’s integrity. Thus, you have to remove these branches before it is too late.

Damaged Trunk of the Tree

Visible wounds, dead branches, seams, and cracks are signs of trunk damage that can indicate that your tree might be in decline. It is possible that you have to remove a tree if it has experienced a traumatic impact. But, the wound might naturally heal and the tree can recover if less than 20% of the trunk is damaged.

Hollow Tree

One sure indication that your tree is significantly dying or declining is hollowed out trunks. Though vital support structures might still be installed to help the tree, the damaged trunk makes it a threat. You need to remove the tree if 1/3 or more of the tree is hollow.

It is crucial that you remove the tree as soon as you can if more than 50% of the tree is damaged or search tree cutters in my area to find the best deals.
